How to place an advert:
If you are a first time visitor, you will need to register.
- Towards the top of the screen are two text buttons, marked Login and Register. Click Register
- Choose a user name – preferably your name, and enter your email address. Click Submit
The system will immediately send you an email. If it does not arrive, check your spam filter. The email contains your password, which is an automatically generated one. We suggest changing it to something more memorable.
Login with your user ID and password, click Submit, and the screen will change to show ‘your account’
This screen allows you to:
- My Details - please fill in your name and address and contact details.
- My Messages – this is where prospective buyers send you a message.
- My Classifieds - shows all your current adverts, and can edit or remove them.
- Create a New Ad – start writing a new advert here
- Help & Support - send an help request and we’ll try and help
- Log Out - log out from your account.
To create a new advert:
STEP 1:
From ‘My Account’ screen, click ‘Create a New Ad’ or ‘Add Listing’ on the right hand side. Choose which listing option you want. The basic advert is free, and there is a series of premium options.
Title: Heading for your advert
Category: Which model of car do you have – select the appropriate category from the drop down box
Search Description: This is effectively the sub heading of the advert, so a brief description should be placed here, rather than the full advert text.
Main Description: The main body of the advert. Adverts can be brief or they can be long. Personally I always prefer to see more detail rather than a shorter advert.
Tags and Keywords: Tags and keywords are required. We recommend putting the model of the car, followed by bodystyle or coachbuilder, eg: Flavia,Convertible,Vignale
Contact Email: Please enter your email address here
Website: Optional
Price: self explanatory I hope
Mechanical, Bodywork and Trim Condition: Please give a concise description of these areas. More detail can be put in the main text of the advert
Year of car, Engine size and Body Style: Hopefully self explanatory
Location: Please mention your approximate location.
Map Location (optional): If you have selected a premium advert and this option appears, you can enter your town,village or city name, or your post code.
Once you are happy, click Submit.
STEP 2: Upload Photographs
Photographs speak a thousand words, or so they say. You can attach up to 10 photos to your advert.
STEP 3:
Payment. If you have chosen a chargeable listing you will be taken to the screen to pay for it via Paypal. You can use a credit or debit card this way as well.
