In addition to our other normal activities, Omicron Engineering has an active and successful Motorsports division, and cars with our involvement have performed admirably on the world stage, in a wide variety of motorsport disciplines, ranging from hill climbing to endurance rallies, with circuit racing, sprinting and rallying in between.
Our cars have competed in both historic and contemporary race series including championship wins in both the Monoposto Racing Club and MSVR’s F3 Cup with modern single seaters, as well as winning in historics with a TVR Tuscan V8 in the HSCC as well as racing a Lancia Fulvia Sport. Omicron cars have also raced in the CSCC, Equipe GTS, and competing in events as diverse as as the Tour Auto, the Mille Miglia, the Peking to Paris rally, the London-Lisbon rally, Rallyes des Alpes, the Pikes Peak Hillclimb amongst others.
Cars prepared and run by the in-house Omicron Motorsport racing team have achieved the following results (results for cars built and campaigned by their owners are not included.)
COMPETITION PREPARATION
As the roads get more and more congested, many people are turning to track days or racing as a way of driving their car at speeds often not permitted on the open road. Some are content with track days, but others decided they want a more competitive element and decide to take up a form of motorsport. We can assist in fulfilling your dream of becoming a racing driver.
Omicron can offer full or partial race, rally or ‘fast road’ preparation, including shell preparation, suspension, steering and brake upgrades, Engine rebuilds and uprades as well as safety upgrades such as seat and harness fitting, fire extinguisher fitting and plumbing amongst other services.
We are also able to offer full trackside support, depending on race calendars – where we bring your car to the circuit and all you have to do is drive. We can also offer driver tuition, advice and interpretation of data-logging, and in-car camera and photographic services.
